Blanca Hotel built by Travelers' Insurance Company

Elegant Three-Story Stone Hotel

Circa 1892

The Blanca Hotel was built by Travelers' Insurance Company in 1889, to accommodate prospective settlers to the Monte Vista area.

It was resplendent with a fireplace in every room, very large dining hall, and the elegance of the time.
Sadly, it burned to the ground in 1902.  The hotel was located at First and Broadway.

In the background right is the Robert Wallace home and the Monte Vista Milling & Elevator Co.
